Re: Author: Tamora Pierce
It might not be your type of book... it's more of a fantasy-romance kind of genre.
It's partially (if not completely) different from Maximum Ride.
But nonetheless, she's still my favorite author... >.<

Re: Author: Tamora Pierce
Hmm.. Well, the first quartet [Song of the Lioness] is about this girl, Alanna and her twin brother, Thom. Well, thier father is sending Alanna to become a "proper lady" (or something like that) and Thom to become a knight. But, Alanna doesn't want to learn manners and stuff, and Thom hates fighting (with swords and etc.). So, Alanna gets this cool idea to switch places. (They're twins, so..yeah..) Alanna will go to become a knight (she loves things dealing with fighting and swords) while Thom will go to pursue his dream of becoming a powerful sorceror [spelling?]. Alanna, however, has to hide her gender because at that time period, females were not allowed to become knights- but Alanna really is talented in swordplay and magic. Oh, I forgot to mention, they both have very strong magic, called the Gift. They also both have purple eyes (awesome, eh?). And so the quartet follows the life of Alanna and her hardships of becoming a knight and hiding her gender. Heh, not to mention, Alanna doesn't exactly enjoy using her magic...but she is given extra attention from the Goddess. And, later on in the series, she gains a fierce enemy who is the uncle of the prince and also one of the strongest magic-users. Thom and Alanna stay in contact (through letters) but... yeah. A very good story, overall.
However, I'm not good at telling about stories. You'll have to read it to see how good it really is. =D
Favorite series. ^-^
PS- The genre is mostly fantasy and romance.

Re: Author: Tamora Pierce
Yup, I've read it also. ^^
I don't dislike the Beka Cooper series, but I don't like how it's set in the past. =q
I like to know whats happening CURRENTLY in their Tortall lives. xD
But, I still enjoyed that book. Lol, I can't wait for the next one.
Have you read the Trickster books?
I have just finished re-reading them, and the reason as to why
I have only now decided to read it again (I first read it a while
back ago) was because I was never satisfied with how Aly fell
in love with a crow-man. =3 Plus, I hated to see THE Lioness
getting old...But, reading it again makes me feel...less unsatisfied
and more understanding, I guess... I finally realize all the good
points of those 2 books (and less about the dislikeable points).
Have you listened to the audio of Melting Stones?
Oh, and I can't wait for the book about Tris going
to the mages' university in Lightsbridge. xD
My love for the circle of magic series isn't as strong as my
love for the Tortall-related books, but that is probably because
they didn't have much romance. (shame on me, I know. xD)
But overall, it was still very interesting.
PS- I loved the immortal series (with Daine).
And I love especially when those female heroes
show those guys what they are really capable of!
(it makes me feel..happy and excited.. ^-^)

Ahahahaha,
Yeahh,
I got the first four Circle of Magic books,
As in, the first series, I guess,
And I only read Sandry's Book, and then a bit of Tris's.
And yeah, romance was kinda a thing for me. xD

Do you feel like you want to cry because it's not out yet,
but you're still very excited, anyway? xD
And on a side note...>> I hope Beka ends up with Rosto. xP

They're so similar.
